Vietnam's Coffee Exports Reach US$2.3 Billion in The First Half Of This Year

In the first half of this year, Vietnam's coffee export volume reached about 1.02 million tons, earning 2.3 billion US dollars in foreign exchange. The export volume and export value increased by 20.7% and 48.5% year-on-year respectively.

 

According to statistics from the Import and Export Bureau, as of May 2022, Vietnam’s coffee export volume reached 150,000 tons, earning US$343 million in foreign exchange. Compared with April 2022, the export volume decreased by 4.7% year-on-year, and the export value decreased by 5.4%. However, compared to May 2021, export volume and value increased by 15.2% and 40.7% respectively. In the first five months of 2022, Vietnam’s coffee export volume is expected to reach 889,000 tons, earning US$2 billion in foreign exchange, an increase of 24.2% and 54% respectively over the same period in 2021.

 

It is worth noting that in May, the average export price of Vietnamese coffee was about US$2,248/ton, down 0.8% compared to April 2022, but up 22.1% compared to May 2021. Therefore, in the first 5 months of 2022, the average export price of Vietnamese coffee is about US$2,251/ton, up 24% from the same period in 2021. (Finish)
