The May Rice Market Outlook report released by the US Department of Agriculture shows that most South American rice prices have remained stable over the past month, although they remain lower than US rice prices.
For the week ending 10 May, Uruguayan broken 5% long grain finished rice was quoted at US$545 per tonne, unchanged from the week ending 5 April and US$95 lower than US long grain rice prices. Argentina's broken 5% rice was quoted at US$510 per tonne, unchanged from the week ending 5 April. Brazilian broken 5 per cent rice was quoted at US$570 per tonne, up US$10 from the week ending 5 April.
