Russia's Grain Output May Fall Short Of Expectations, Plans To Consider Lowering Exports

Russia's agriculture minister said there is a risk that grain production may not reach 130 million tons during the current farming season. Therefore. It is possible to reduce the export program, which is still planned for 50 million tons.

 

 

 

Speaking at the on-site meeting of the Bashkiria Agriculture Ministry command, Patrushev noted that the grain harvest is now in full swing in the administrative regions of the Russian Federation, 27% of the harvestable area has already been harvested and the grain output is about 55 million tons, which is good overall, but the current harvest is much lower than last year.

 

 

 

According to official forecasts published earlier by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, in 2022, Russia's total grain production is expected to reach 130 million tons and a record 87 million tons of wheat. in 2021, Russia will produce 120.656 million tons of grain and 75.94 million tons of wheat. The grain export potential for the current farming season (starting on July 1) is estimated at 50 million tons.
