The website of the Mexican Ministry of Agriculture reported on 17 May that according to data from the Central Bank of Mexico, Mexico's agricultural export and import trade reached another record high in the first quarter of 2022. Of this, exports were US$12.807 billion, up 15.9 per cent year-on-year; imports were US$9.935 billion, up 21.2 per cent year-on-year; and the trade surplus was US$2.872 billion, up 0.73 per cent year-on-year. Mexico's main agricultural exports were beer, avocados, tequila, strawberries, tomatoes and peppers, while the main agricultural imports were corn, soybeans, pork and wheat.
