Fertilization Technology of Lemon Trees in Different Seasons

When the spring shoots sprout from February to March, the lemon tree is fertilized for the first time, and some quick-acting nitrogen fertilizers are supplemented according to the strength of the tree. Trees with weak wood and many flowers should be applied more appropriately; trees with strong wood and few flowers should be applied less or not. The amount of nitrogen fertilizer accounts for 10 to 15% of the total annual amount, which promotes the robust growth of spring shoots and spring flowers.

The second fertilization of the lemon tree is after flowering and before the fruit expands. Combined with fruit preservation and insect control, 0.3% urea solution is sprayed several times to replenish the loss of tree nutrients after flowering and increase the fruit yield.

The third fertilization of the lemon tree is from July to August, which is the period of autumn shoot extraction and fruit expansion. This time, the amount of fertilization is large. Nitrogen fertilizer accounts for 40% of the annual amount, and phosphorus and potassium fertilizers each account for 50%. Two fertilization pits are opened at the drip line of each plant, with a depth of 30-40 cm to ensure that the mother branches of autumn shoots are strong. Spring flowers are well differentiated.
