Diesel engine exhaust treatment fluid (commonly known as: automotive urea, car urea, automotive environmental urea), known as AdBlue in China and Europe, DEF in the Americas, and ARLA32 in Brazil. AdBlue is a high purity clear liquid consisting of 32.5% high purity urea and 67.5% deionized water, with a faint ammonia odor. AdBlue is used in cars, trucks, buses and heavy-duty off-road diesel vehicles equipped with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction exhaust aftertreatment) systems and is a required consumable in SCR technology, together with the SCR catalyst, to convert harmful nitrogen oxide emissions from diesel engines into harmless water vapor and nitrogen. The main components include the catalyst, the AdBlue injection unit, the AdBlue container and the AdBlue dose controller. Nearly all heavy-duty vehicle manufacturers in Europe, the United States and Asia, including China, also equip their vehicles with selective catalytic reduction systems with AdBlue working fluid to meet new NOx emission standards (e.g. Euro IV, Euro V) AdBlue and SCR technology together optimize engine performance and fuel consumption, reducing diesel consumption by up to 6% and significantly reducing costs. AdBlue can only be used in engine combinations equipped with SCR systems, as it is neither a fuel nor a fuel additive. AdBlue implements standards in accordance with ISO22241, DIN70070 and CEFIC regulations to ensure the effective operation of SCR systems. AdBlue is not harmful to the environment and is classified as a transportable liquid with minimal risk.



The domestic production of automotive urea is currently dominated by small and medium-sized private enterprises, with a lack of channel sales capacity. Domestic automotive urea is mainly produced by Jiangsu Colansu, Liaoning Rundi, Jingve Chemical, Beijing Yili and other enterprises. The production capacity of each company is between 100,000 and 300,000 tons per year. Among them, Jiangsu Colansu and Liaoning Rundi have an annual capacity of 300,000 tons and have a series of modifier patents for the low temperature coagulation of automotive urea. Jiangsu Colansu has exported Colansu automotive urea solution to Russia, Eastern Europe and South America. But for the current small private enterprises, can not grasp the core sales channels is the fundamental weakness of its development.


 

It is suitable for cars, trucks, buses and buses with diesel engines conforming to National IV emission standards.
