It was reported on July 28 that coffee is a favorite drink of Costa Ricans, and the per capita coffee consumption in Costa Rica is about 4.15 kilograms per year. However, due to factors such as the decline in the production of local coffee beans, the reduction in the global harvest, and the increase in the price of raw materials, the price of coffee in Colombia has recently shown an upward trend. According to the Consumer Price Index released by the National Bureau of Statistics and Census (INEC) of Colombia, the consumer price of coffee in Colombia in June 2022 increased by 57.5% year-on-year and 2.29% month-on-month. After comparing the prices of the three supermarket websites, the price of coffee per 1kg ranges from 4,500 to 6,860 colones (excluding high-end brand coffee and specialty coffee). According to data from the Colombian Coffee Association (Icafé), the production of coffee beans in the 2021-2022 harvest season is 1,769,152 farnes, a decrease of 6.23% compared with the 2020-2021 harvest season. Colombian coffee exports account for 84% of its production. In 2021, the export value of Colombian Golden Coffee is 326 million US dollars, and the main export markets are the European Union and the United States.
