The International Grains Council's February supply and demand report shows that China's rice production in 2021/22 (January to December) is expected to be 149.5 million tons, in line with the previous month's forecast of 148.3 million tons. China's rice imports are forecast at 3.8 million tonnes, up slightly from last month's forecast of 3.7 million tonnes and 4.3 million tonnes in the previous year.
Rice exports are forecast at 2.6 million tons, in line with last month's forecast of 2.4 million tons last year. Rice use is forecast at 151 million tonnes, up slightly from last month's forecast of 150.5 million tonnes and the previous year's 153.4 million tonnes. Rice ending stocks are forecast at 109 million tons, down slightly from last month's forecast of 109.5 million and last year's 109.4 million.
