Cereal Acreage Increases in Switzerland in 2021

Switzerland's federal government website, May 17, 2021, Switzerland's cereal acreage amounted to 146,400 hectares, an increase of 3% over 2020, of which, wheat acreage increased by 5%, oats by 7%, potatoes by 2% and sugar beets by 8%. The number of farms declined further to 48,864, while organic farming continued to grow. The number of dairy cows stabilized and the number of poultry continued to show an upward trend, with an increase of 1.1%. Swiss farm workers 150,200 people, an increase of 0.5%.
