Brazilian Coffee Sales Now Account For 60% Of Total Annual Production

Brazil's independent consulting agency "Safras & Mercado" recently said that, as of the 18th, sales of coffee in 2022/23 accounted for about 60% of the total production expected for the year, an increase of 8 percentage points compared to the previous month, but still lower than the same period last year.

Brazilian website "forbes" reported that the agency pointed out that although the proportion of sales to total production was lower than that recorded in the same period last year (68%), it was slightly higher than the average for that period in recent years (58%).

In the newly released survey, the consultancy revised its 2022/23 coffee production forecast to 57.3 million bags (60 kg bags). This compares with a forecast of 58.2 million bags in the previous edition of the survey released in September. At that time, the agency had said that the forecast data had been lower than initially expected due to the impact of climate issues.
