Brazil's "Economic Value" reported on February 14, according to data compiled by the Ministry of Agriculture based on the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), Brazil's agricultural exports in January amounted to 8.82 billion US dollars, an increase of 57.5% year-on-year, setting a record for the same period. Compared with the same period last year, the average price of Brazilian agricultural exports rose by 19%, and the export volume increased by 32.3%.
Soybeans and derivatives (soybeans, bran and soybean oil) continue to lead Brazil's agricultural exports. In January, the export value of soybean comprehensive products reached 2.12 billion US dollars, an increase of 338.3% year-on-year, mainly due to the delayed soybean harvest last year and the delay in exports. Soybean exports in January amounted to US$1.24 billion, or 2.45 million tons, of which 80.1% were shipped to China. Among the most exported agricultural products, meat (beef, pork and chicken) exports reached $604.9 million, up 42.8% year-on-year, second only to soybeans and derivatives.
