Australian Grape Production Expected To Reach 210,000 Tons, A Record

The Australian Fresh Deciduous Fruit Annual Report shows that Australian fresh grape production is expected to increase to 210,000 tonnes in the 2022/23 season, up from 180,000 tonnes last season, due to an expected slight improvement in labour availability at harvest and good weather conditions. Despite the expansion of fresh grape acreage in recent years and new plants beginning to bear fruit, Australian fresh grape production continues to face many challenges. In particular, the 2021/22 season saw a reduction in labor due to the new crown epidemic and rainy harvest periods, conditions that not only affected overall production, but also reduced production of export quality fresh grapes. Thanks to increased production, Australian fresh grape exports are expected to rise to 130,000 tonnes in the 2022/23 season, up from 109,000 tonnes in the previous season.
