Regulation of Gibberellin (GA3) on biomass productivity and some metabolites of marine microalgae and other dinoflagellates

The use of plant hormones is an effective and economical way to accelerate biomass growth and synthesize valuable metabolites in the microalgae industry. In this study, different levels of Gibberellin (GA3) were added to the growth medium to evaluate the growth performance, i. e. , the distribution of chlorophyll a, protein, lipid, carbohydrate and ash, and fatty acids compared to the other metabolites. The highest cell number and the lowest doubling time (4.31 days) were obtained in 4 mg l-1 GA3(3) . P & Lt; 0.05) , the highest specific growth rate was recorded in 2 and 4 mg l-1 GA3 treatments. The yield of chlorophyll a was increased by increasing GA3 concentration to 4mg l-1, and the lowest value was recorded in 6MG l-1 GA3(P & Lt; 0.05) . The highest level of protein was detected in 1,2 and 4 mg l-1 GA3, while the lowest level was detected in Control Group (P & Lt; 0.05) . In addition, the Lipid content of microalgae treated with different GA3 concentration increased significantly compared with the control group. The highest unsaturated fat content-1 was obtained by using GA3 at 6 mg/l, and the highest saturation Monounsaturated fat was determined in 2mg/l GA3. The results showed that 4mg l-1 GA 3 could improve the growth and biosynthesis of most metabolites in Ginkgo Biloba L.
