Fertilizers exported by country totaled US$57.3 billion in 2019, down by 8% for all shippers of fertilizers over the five-year period starting in 2015. Year over year, the value of exported fertilizers decreased by -3.2% from 2018 to 2019.Fertilizers are critical ingredients for growing crops that feed people around the world.Among continents, countries in Europe sold the highest dollar worth of exported fertilizers during 2019 with shipments valued at $23.6 billion or 41.1% of the global total. In second place were Asian exporters at 28.5% while 17.8% of international shipments of fertilizers originated from North America.Smaller percentages came from Africa (10%), Latin America (2.2%) excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean, and Oceania (0.3%) led by Australia.
